Weather and Hurricane Alerts

You can view any weather alerts from the perspective of the National Hurricane Center. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

Climate: From the beginning of July the temperature climbs to anywhere between 90F and 100F and, at night, hovers around the mid 70sF.

The good news is, as this is a desert climate, there is little humidity, but some form of cooling is needed at night. Also from mid August till end of September we are in a potential hurricane zone and some form of extreme weather should be expected at this time.

Bugs? Well that is a variable feast with the volume of 'no-see-ems' being the least predictable. These are tiny flies that get everywhere, literally! Mosquitos, well that depends on how close you are to standing water sources. Bug sprays are best applied frequently

What to do? Most people either leave or shut up shop in August Sept. But again the tourist season is expanding with more hotels staying open that means more shops and restaurants, Do not expect a full range of services but the local specialist shop does its best. Why take a trip to La Paz or Cabo in the great air-conditioned buses.

Wave activity is low and the beaches are quiet so its a good time for beginners to practice surfing in less crowded waters.

If you just want to collapse, relax, walk empty beaches and look at the starry skies, then this is the place and time to be here.

Many vacation rentals offer good discounts over the summer, check it out when you contact them.

Hey, look after our town till most of us return for the start of the busy season in early November.
